Come down and see Joe and his follow England and Wasps players at Shepards Wharf during Skandia Cowes week. Joe Worsley, Tim Payne & other England internationals are coming down to see what all the fuss is about! Perhaps you can even challenge them on the winch competition here at Shepards Wharf on Thursday 7th August from 2pm? Shepards Wharf announces impressive double decker hospitality, Crew Bar and Entertainment marquee for Skandia Cowes Week
Since the success of the structure at the Artemis Transat Race Village in Plymouth in May, we have decided to bring it to Shepards Wharf for 2008. Not only will it allow a larger area for the crew bar - but a dedicated terrace for class receptions, prize ceremonies, private BBQ's & party's and enjoying the sunshine! Shepards Wharf Welcomes back the Extreme 40's
This year will see the return of the Extreme 40 fleet, competing out of the iShares Cup race village at Shepards Wharf. The third event of the 2008 iShares Cup Sailing Series will run over three days (August 2-4) on the first few days of Skandia Cowes Week. The high-performance 40-foot catamarans will do battle on race courses set as close to the shore as possible, providing continuous high-octane action for spectators. Organic, Alfresco eating at Shepards Wharf with Sourced foods
This year the food at Shepards Wharf is courtesy of Sourced in association with Pantry Organics. They have a daily changing menu of delicious home made meals and hand baked delicacies. Their produce is sourced from their own organic farm in the New Forest growing over 300 different varieties of fruit and vegetables and farm sheep, beef, pigs, chicken and geese. After being brought over to the island on their own boat "Ned Kelly" their food is prepared fresh each day. Expect to find hearty breakfasts of sizzling free range bacon, egg and sausage combos with oven roasted tomatoes, mouth-watering bagels or healthy muesli and poached fruit pots.
Lunches are savoury tarts, seasonal salads and a selection of daily baguettes are served until 5pm. Alternatively pre-order your Floating Lunch to collect in the morning and take on board. Dinner is a daily hog-roast and cuisine from around the world, from surf & turf to paella or tagines - check our blackboards each day to see what's cooking! Gay Rum will return to host the Red Cap Party on Thursday 7th
August, 2008. The crew bar will play host to the most talked
about event of the week. This year Mt Gay will be adding
to the fun with yet more great give away’s including their
sought after Red Caps to deserving sailors… will you be
lucky to get your hands on one? Tickets for this event are available
from the Crew Bar.
