FESTIVAL AWARDSDubbed as the "Oscars" of the UK Festival Industry – October saw the return of the annual UK Festival awards, voted by the public. Peppermint Bars were in attendance providing refreshments during the conference and keeping the drinks flowing at the after-party.

SKATING ON ICE
We'll be looking after the “log cabin” style Moose Bar for 3 months, in Canada Square as part of Skatco’s unique Ice Skating rink in the heart of the city of London until February. As well as the ever-popular rink, the bar traditionally proves a draw for chilly East Londoners looking for a winter warmer and we’re planning tipples such as Moose Milk, whipped up using Amarula Cream.

SEPTEMBER
BESTIVALHappy 5th Birthday Bestival! Sold out once again in record time - attracting some 35,000 revellers. The event comprised 15 bars, including the Bollywood Bar & Black Dahlia cocktail bars, Brother's Cider Bar, the Bestivale Pub, the Havana Club Brand Experience, the cockney Knees Up, Come Dancing, two mass-serve serve bars (using 44,000 pint tankers) as well as further themed bars and fast can stations. Yes, the rain came - but that failed to dampen the spirits of everyone there, our staff included. Next year Bestival will be back for its 6th Birthday and we're already counting down the days...

AUGUST
FIELD DAYSharing the same venue as the Lovebox Weekender - Field Day returned to Victoria Park in East London at the beginning of August. The organiser employed us to run all 8 bars including a prestigious backstage VIP cocktail bar. Cold draught lager and 'pokey' Mojito's were the order of the day for the 20,000 guests. BLOOM FESTIVAL
Set in idyllic Gloucestershire countryside, now in its 3rd year, Bloom returned with a bang this year with an eclectic line up of music, fun and hedonism with acts including Kissy Sell Out, Roisin Murphy and Roni Size. Franc and Olivia brought us in to run the bars this year which included a fun Cabaret Bar, a Cuervo Bar and a mass-service bar throughout the weekend. http://bloomfestival.com
NOTTINGHILL CARNIVAL
Red Bull approached us to showcase their Red Bull Cola drink at London's Notting Hill Carnival on the August Bank Holiday weekend. The event was a huge success - "Just want to say what a great job Steve and the team did. It was a pleasure to work with such a professional and hard working team. The overall event was a great success for Red Bull and created excellent awareness of Red Bull Cola throughout the carnival. Having fun loving bar staff, serving premium drinks helped make this happen. I look forward to working with you all in the near future." MAGIC LOUNGEABOUT
"A new and more refined way of experiencing live music" The inaugural year for Magic Loungeabout - a 24 hour party based in North Yorkshire at an amazing site for a new "grown-up" festival experience. We ran a number of bars for Simon and the Magic Loungeabout team, including a cocktail bar - whilst everyone enjoyed a bit of Gary Numan or classic house DJ John Kelly. One to watch.

JULY
GLADE FESTIVALAfter an extremely busy month in May and June to include the Radio 1 after-party, Rockness, Artemis Transat and Mark Ronson at the Old Billingsgate to name but a few - the Glade festival returned this year with some glorious weather. A more intimate affair this year and a huge success and definitely re-kindled the Glade vibe with some great music, excellent weather and of course a lot of beer! - as well as cocktails on the Sancho Panza Bar and real ale courtesy of Otter Ale - keeping Glade crowd happy throughout the weekend. LOVEBOX
Now in its 4th year, we returned to Victoria Park to run the bars for Lovebox - London's coolest day festival in the summer calendar. 12 Bars including a huge 40 metre main stage bar, several cocktail bars and Cuervo frozen margaritas were just some of the outlets available to thirsty London festival-goers throughout the weekend. http://www.lovebox.net
CAMP BESTIVAL
It was the inaugural year for Camp Bestival (Bestival's sister event) at Lulworth Castle in Dorset. Set in an idyllic setting in the Dorset countryside the event's first year was a huge success and cemented its future for years to come. We provided a colourful mix of cocktail bars, satellite bars and mass-service bars throughout the weekend.

SECRET GARDEN PARTY
Definitely this summer's talking point. The Secret Garden Party has grown a loyal, eclectic and fun following in its five year history and this year the event sold out well before they opened the gates. Cocktails are always a popular with this crowd and we didn't disappoint - especially our head mixologist's Glen's "secret" Bloody Mary recipe - it was the talking point of the weekend and certainly helped with the hangovers! As well as the main bars we also built the Aspalls Cyder Barn and provided a rum bar on a pirate ship in the middle of the lake (which was only accessible via canoe-water-taxi) and was consequently exploded into a flurry of fireworks on Saturday night (after we vacated it we may add) and watched as 200 flamed-lanterns ascended into the night sky - it was quite a show. SKANDIA COWES WEEK
Year No 5 for us at Peppermint Shepards Wharf - one of the official event enclosures during Skandia Cowes Week. We provided a raft of facilities for the eight day sailing event, including the ever-popular Infernos nightclub, Crew Bars, event TV, race declaration kiosks, breakfast & food facilities and a trade village - as well as an impressive double-decker structure for special events throughout the week. Radio 1's Big Weekend - The After-Show Party

'The biggest line up in ClubClass history' greeted Peppermint, who provided the bar services at the highly anticipated after party for Radio 1's Big Weekend in Maidstone, Kent. The event was broadcast live from the largest TV studio in the UK and welcomed a celebrity spotted crowd who partied into the small hours. Peppermint designed and ran a fully stocked main bar with the intensity and professionalism it is famous for, ensuring a perfect service to a crowd buzzing with anticipation for each amazing act. This was complimented by the VIP area, with it's chilled out vibes and funky seating areas providing a break from the madness.
